Steve Chaba oversees Alpine’s IT operations with a focus on innovation, reliability, and strategic business alignment. With over 25 years of experience in the technology sector, he excels at aligning IT strategy with business objectives, delivering tactical solutions, and solving complex problems with intuitive insight. Since joining Alpine in 2012, Steve has been responsible for strategic planning, opportunity identification, and the development of stable, secure, and efficient IT operations.

His career began with developing custom web applications for firms like CP Railway and Shell. He later founded SwitchBox, a multi-player gaming center that became the largest in Western Canada, earning accolades such as the Bennett Jones Emerging Enterprise of the Year Award and Best Business Award in 2004. Steve’s career continued as a CommVault Resident Support Engineer for The Herjavec Group and Zentra, where he supported high-profile clients including Enbridge and Fortis.

Steve holds a Bachelor of Computer Information Systems from Mount Royal University.

Before launching his career in technology, Steve was a passionate dirt bike rider. He began riding at age five and went on to win several regional championships, competing in motocross events across Western Canada and the Northwestern United States.
